Mind the Product 2012 – Product Management Conference

We’re delighted to announce our first ever conference – Mind the Product 2012 – on Friday, September 28th at the Mermaid Conference Centre in London. Mind the Product 2012 is the first conference of its kind, bringing together product management leaders from around the world to explore the intersection of design, technology and business – the business of building great products.

We’ve got some great speakers lined up, from right across the board:

Marty Cagan, Managing Partner of Silicon Valley Product Group and the author of Inspired: How To Create Products Customers Love. During the course of the past 20 years, Marty Cagan has served as an executive responsible for defining and building products for some of the most successful companies in the world, including Hewlett-Packard, Netscape Communications, America Online, and eBay.

Charles Adler, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Kickstarter. Charles is an entrepreneur with more than 14 years experience in interaction design. Formerly director of strategy and senior information architect at Agency.com, his work in user experience, design, and information architecture is driven by a commitment to all things clean and simple. Previously, he cofounded Subsystence, an online art publication, and Source-ID, and independent interaction design studio.

Tom Hulme is Design Director at IDEO, London, where he uses a human-centred innovation approach to design new businesses. A serial entrepreneur and angel investor, he has first-hand experience in building successful enterprises and, as a result, he has a thorough understanding of business. Hulme regularly speaks, writes and blogs on the topics of entrepreneurship, design thinking, open innovation and industry disruption.

Tom Coates, Founder of Product Club. Tom has a long background in social, local and future media. He ran R&D for BBC Radio before building online communities for emap and TimeOut. He was part of the Tech Development team at Yahoo, launching the Fire Eagle location service, and later as Head of Product for Yahoo Brickhouse. He is an advisor for several start-ups including Lanyrd and founder of Product Club, which focuses on New Product Development and Invention.

Tom Loosemore, Deputy Director, UK Government Digital Services – working on single domain, user centred government website gov.uk. Tom has an impressive and rather privileged CV that spans Wired’s first UK magazine, head of web 2.0 for the BBC and digital strategy adviser for Ofcom, and heading Channel 4’s digital fund 4IP.

Tom Chi, Experience Lead for Special Projects at Google X, their in-house skunk labs that has brought us amazing products from augmented reality glasses in Project Glass to self driving cars. Tom has a rich background, having worked as a Designer, Product Manager, Developer, and Consultant. He was a key design driver on many products, including Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Search, Microsoft Outlook, and several other enterprise applications. Tom is also a co-creator of OK/Cancel, and has published over 200 comic strips about user experience in a variety of online and printed publications.

John Earner, EIR at Accel. John is a social gaming expert with experience building and scaling social gaming studios and hit titles. He was the first Product Manager at Playfish and managed both Pet Society and Restaurant City, both top Facebook games. He was then VP of Product Management globally for playfish globally before becoming the GM of Playfish’s London studios where he developed The Sims Social.

Matthew Ogle and Hannah Donovan, Co-founders of ThisIsMyJam.com. Matthew and Hannah are the product and design powerhouse behind Last.fm and have continued their passion for building music products online with hit startup Thisismyjam.com.
