Will joined the Mind the Product marketing team in 2018, and moved into Community Management for ProductTank in August 2020. Will has extensive experience in business communications, hosting community projects as part of his work for Cambridge BID, such as free outdoor cinema events, as well as assisting in setting up AGMs. During 2020, Will experienced being on furlough and is open to discuss how this was a massive knock on confidence and productivity, and how to break the negative mindset that comes from staying indoors. Will is an avid gamer and is always up for hearing terrible jokes. While Will grew up in Pembrokeshire in Wales, he moved to Cambridge to do a degree in animation, fell in love with the city and ended up staying!

<p>World Product Day returns on 19 July 2022, and this year we’ll be celebrating “Product firsts”! We want to help those who are taking their first steps, whether into a new leadership role, a new industry, or simply starting their first job as a product manager.</p>
<p>We’ll be spending the day hosting discussions about our “Product firsts” on all of our social media platforms, as well as hosting multiple ProductTank events from around the world.</p>
<p>We want to hear from you on World Product Day! Here are just a few of the things happening on 19 July:</p>
<h2>Product discussions on Mind the Product’s social channels</h2>
<p>We’ll be all over our social channels, celebrating the craft of product management and product growth. We want to hear how you first got into product management &#8211; and there are bonus points if you have pictures! We’ll be recollecting insights, stories, and lessons learned from our experiences to help those of us starting out in Product. <h2>A full day of ProductTank events from around the world</h2>
<p>That’s right, it wouldn’t be a World Product Day without <a href="https://www.mindtheproduct.com/producttank-about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ProductTank</a>! This year, we can finally go out and experience some of these events in person as well as stream them digitally! One of the best ways to grow as a product person is to find your tribe and get stuck into some product therapy. You will be in a room full of people that not only understands what a product manager does, but you will be able to find and contribute to your local product support network.</p>
<h2>The return of the ProductTank awards!</h2>
<p>Speaking of ProductTank, we are bringing back the ProductTank awards, which debuted last year on World Product Day. All of our ProductTank organisers are volunteers and are dedicated to improving the product community in their city, and each of them do an incredible job getting people excited about the craft of product. If you have attended a ProductTank event in 2021 and heard an incredible talk, or met an amazing speaker, please <a href="https://mindtheproduct.typeform.com/to/KvenXAX1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vote in the ProductTank awards.</a></p>
<h2>A wealth of product content</h2>
<p>We will be highlighting useful content for new product people and people starting in leadership roles, including our <a href="https://www.mindtheproduct.com/tag/how-i-got-my-job/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“How I got my job in Product”</a> series. <h2>Gather with your team to celebrate</h2>
<p>World Product Day doesn’t have to be a solo event &#8211; take 30 minutes, get together with your team, and discuss how each of you have improved since you first started in Product. Look at your journeys, and any lessons you’ve learned along the way. It’s a great way to learn from each other. And of course, share your selfies with us using #WorldProductDay!</p>
<h1>About World Product Day</h1>
<p>In short, World Product Day is an annual celebration of all things Product.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mindtheproduct.com/announcing-world-product-day-worlds-largest-product-management-event/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">It began in 2018</a> when we celebrated the eight-year anniversary of the first ever ProductTank meetup. ProductTanks in 90 cities across 43 countries took part, and they all had fun highlighting the craft of product management with their communities. All those talks from all those cities really emphasised the different perspectives that different cultures bring to the craft of product management. It was a no brainer &#8211; the anniversary event became an annual event.</p>
<p>Today, World Product Day brings people together to celebrate, connect, and learn.</p>

<p>All work and no play? No thanks. This day is a celebration of all things Product &#8211; what product people do, how we do it, and who we do it with.</p>

<p>Product management can be a lonely job, but World Product Day serves as a reminder that you are not alone. There’s a backlog of product people around the world facing the same challenges as you and on this day, we will come together to share our insights and hone our craft.</p>
<h3>Learn</h3>
<p>At Mind the Product, our mission is to help product people to become more successful by pushing forward our craft. As an incredible day of product learning, World Product Day helps us do that.</p>
<p>World Product Day will be an exciting 24 hours, where we can all discuss what we love about Product with people from around the world! We can’t wait to see how you will be celebrating with us on 19 July.</p>
