In this talk from #MTPEngage Hamburg Jeff Patton looks at why Agile development can seem so challenging for product people and what you should do about it.

Jeff deconstructs agile from a product manager’s view. He explains how “broken” agile felt to him in the days when he was in a product role and what helped him to fix it. But he also makes it very clear that so far agile is the best thing we’ve got to get work done.

He talks about how the term “customer” is misunderstood in the agile manifesto, and about the customer/vendor anti-pattern. He also looks at the valuable/usable/feasible part of a product manager’s job, and says that all of us should focus beyond the next KPI to hit.
